The Good Run 2018- What You Need to Know

The Good Run is a fantastic event happening at the end of March. This Good Run is a charity fun run. The run takes place on Good Friday the 30th of March 2018 at 9.30am, in the beautiful grounds of St. Anne’s Park, Raheny, Dublin. Above all, the proceeds from the run will go towards supporting the fight against Motor Neuron Disease. In addition funds raised will support organisations conducting research and providing essential care and support to people with Motor Neuron Disease.

Motor Neuron Disease

Motor Neuron Disease (MND) is a progressive neurological disease. It affects the motor neurons or nerves, in the spinal cord and brain. As a result, messages gradually stop reaching the muscles, leading to muscle wastage and weakness. The cause of MND is unknown. Many think environmental factors may be influential. There is needs to be on-going research to find the cause. For more information on MND or to donate today, check out their website.

The Good Run

The Good Run is a family event where you can choose either 5km or the shorter course of 2.5km, perfect for people of all abilities. The event is family friendly atmosphere and you can walk or run. This is the prefect event to start off the Easter week end before helping yourself to some delicious chocolate Easter eggs. 50% of proceeds will be donated to the Irish Motor Neuron Disease Association (IMNDA) and 50% will be donated to Project Mine (a research programme dedicated to discovering the genetic cause of MND to enable treatment to be developed).
