What is the PINC programme?

Physiotherapists trained and specialising in the pinc programme support, guide and rehabilitate people through every stage of their treatment and recovery.

PINC is more than just helping people after cancer, it is about giving hope, strength and courage. There are now more people surviving a cancer diagnosis, but they can face an increased risk of extended health problems, premature mortality and harsh side effects from their treatment. The Pinc programme help people navigate the difficult world of cancer treatment so they can minimise the side effects of the treatments and encourage them to have the best quality of life they can. Some of the aims of the Pinc programme are:

  • Improve movement and function

  • Reduce sensitivity around the scar

  • Help prevent swelling

  • Relieve pain and stiffness

  • Regain strength

  • Fatigue management

  • Return to activities

Emily Smyth and Lesley Lowe are our trained PINC programme therapist specialists.

Here at Ballsbridge Physiotherapy Clinic, we have a team of chartered physiotherapists who are dedicated to helping patients in their cancer recovery. If you, or anyone you know are struggling to function at the level you were prior to treatment, do not hesitate to get in contact.
