Many of us enjoy a lazy Christmas night in front of the fire watching movies and drinking wine. The exercise programmes carefully worked on during the year can go by the wayside. In order to lose weight, you need to be burning more calories than you consume, so movement is key. Even over Christmas, going out for some long walks will be a great start. Getting back into your exercise routine as soon as possible will help you to reach your weight loss goals.
Controlling portion size with each of your balanced meals is absolutely vital. A good way of doing this is by using smaller sized plates and by filling your plate with vegetable and protein sources, and some carbohydrates.
Here at Ballsbridge Physiotherapy Clinic, we offer weekly Pilates classes. Pilates can be effective in the weight loss process. It has become famous for creating long, lean, fit bodies and for also creating lean muscle mass. Pilates also helps to improve posture and this is one way in which you can feel thinner.
Are you ordering take out a lot during those long days at the office? Why not try preparing your meals at the weekend and freezing them, and having them ready for during the week? By doing this you will not only cut costs, but you will also know what you are eating and therefore you’ll know what you are putting into your body. By preparing meals in advance, you will be able to plan ahead for what you will be eating during the week.
Have you vowed to yourself that you will drop three dress sizes by March? Maybe this is a little unrealistic and when do you do not reach the goal, you may then become discouraged and it will be even harder to motivate yourself. By setting realistic and reachable goals, you will have the ability to achieve these goals by taking small steps each day and by doing it the right way.
