Work Station | Office Ergonomics
With these principles in mind changes to your work station can have long term benefits. The idea is that small repetitive movements, although causing only minimal pain and strife, will continue to slowly wear out your joints, ligaments or bones, and over time cause malformations of your skeletal structure. All of this can be avoided with an ergonomic working environment.
Our physiotherapists have extensive knowledge in ergonomics and work related injuries and can perform a personalised work place assessment. Recommendations can be made regarding posture, desk height, seating, computer and phone set up to prevent injuries from occurring. This low cost intervention is invaluable to both the employee and employer in creating a safe and healthy work environment.
Physiotherapists are available to provide both personal assessments or group presentations and assessments.
The term ‘ergonomics’ is derived from two Greek words: ‘ergon’, meaning work and ‘nomoi’, meaning natural laws. Ergonomists study human capabilities in relationship to work demands.
