  • Manual Therapy

    Manual therapy (a specialized form of physical therapy) is defined as using skilled, specific hands-on techniques, to assess and treat soft tissue and joint structures. It includes joint techniques such as mobilisation/manipulation and soft tissue techniques such as deep tissue massage / trigger point release. These techniques facilitate pain relief, restore normal movement and create the environment to work on strengthening and flexibility restoring normal function.

  • Dry Needling

    Dry needling is a therapeutic technique using filament needles to release trigger points, which are taut bands in muscles. Dry needling is sometimes referred to as Western Acupuncture. It can be used to treat any condition where muscle pain or tightness is an issue, a few examples include: Neck and Back Pain, Tennis elbow, ITB syndrome, Anterior knee pain, Shin Pain and tightness & Calf pain and tightness.

  • Post OP Care

    Physiotherapy after an operation has been shown to provide benefits in decreasing pain, strengthening muscles and improving how you function. Some of the common operations we see are Hip and Knee replacements, Knee Arthroscopy, Tendon and Cuff Repairs, Shoulder Stabilisation and Wrist Fractures.

  • Orthotics

    At Ballsbridge Physiotherapy Clinic we have a unique perspective on the management of Orthotics. Aileen MaGuire is an experienced orthotic prescriber while David Richards is a clinical specialist physiotherapist with extensive experience in assessment of running form. This combined approach allows us to provide excellent management of these lower limb problems.

  • Home Treatment

    The clinic offers home treatment on request in the surrounding area of the clinic. This service includes the physiotherapist providing specialist physiotherapy treatment from the comfort of the patient’s home for those who are unable to attend the clinic. The service involves the formulation of rehabilitation programmes in a familiar environment which can be incorporated easily into the patient’s daily routine.

  • Exercise Prescriptions

    This is one of the core functions of Physiotherapy. It can take the form of specific exercise to rehabilitate from an injury or a maintenance programme for injury prevention. At Ballsbridge Physiotherapy Clinic we will provide you with an individual programme which you can access on your smartphone, tablet or computer with your own unique login and password.

Our physiotherapists have completed additional training in these fields to provide superior up-to-date treatments that meet your individual needs. All physiotherapists are CORU registered and members of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists.
